Week of August 7-11

Welcome back! As we enter our second week of school, this week we will become familiar with our new SpringBoard curriculum and textbooks. Students are not allowed to bring the textbooks home; however, the pages are perforated and can be removed from the book.

Students will also be taking the SRI (Student Reading Inventory) to gauge their current lexile level.

Every Friday is Free Reading Friday and students participate in Independent Reading for majority of the class period, with a brief discussion and/or writing assignment near the conclusion of class. This helps the students to build reading stamina and increase vocabulary in the process. Please make sure that your child brings a magazine or book to class on Fridays.
