October 9-13

Now that Fall break is over and we are back into the swing of things, here is an overview of what we will be working on this week:

We are finishing up reading of "The Scholarship Jacket" and starting "Bad Boy" by Walter Dean Myers. We are also learning about language and how word choice affects the development of the characters and events in the story. Students will be analyzing both of these personal narratives for multiple incidents (causes) and responses (effects). Students are also learning how to compare and contrast and write summaries. A common assessment will be given on Friday in all class periods.
